Talking about mental health isn’t always easy. In reality, it’s a very difficult topic for most people. When and how do we bring it up? What will the other person think? How do we even begin to ask for help?

The pandemic has made the situation worse in so many ways. Not only has it generally damaged our mental health, it’s isolated us from the people we care about.

To help with this, Greater Than Neurons has created a line of 7 Check In Postcards to help you start a conversation about mental health. Whether you want to check in on a friend or thank someone for their support, we have a card for you! And who doesn't love getting a surprise in the mail?

For the person you haven't talked to in a while

“I’m Thinking of You” Check In Postcard

It’s been hard to stay in touch with everyone through the pandemic and it can feel difficult to reach out to friends when you haven’t talked in so long. This is the perfect reminder that you still care deeply about them even if communication has been slow.

For someone you want to know is doing okay

“How's Your Brain” Check In Postcard

Do you know someone that struggles to balance their mental health and you want to see how they’re holding up? With a direct tone, this card is a nice physical reminder to keep tabs on their mental state and share their struggles and progress with others.

For when you or a friend could use some good ol' fashioned ranting

“Vent Session Invitation” Check In Postcard

This is my favorite card! Sometimes you just need to rant to blow off some steam, but our loved ones don’t have the mental energy and space for that 24/7. This card lets someone know that you’re itching to talk, but when they’re comfortable to do so.

For someone that needs a little extra love right now

“I Care” Check In Postcard

People often forget how badly depression warps your thinking. Not only does it completely deplete one’s self worth, the guilt and shame around feeling like a burden can be unbearable. It’s nearly impossible to rationalize your own thoughts. I can’t stress enough how much a physical reminder of someone’s love helps. Even if your loved one doesn’t suffer from depression, a note like this could be a very touching gift in an especially trying time, which we all seem to be in a lot of these days.

For the person that's so good at fighting their inner demons they could land an exorcist gig

“Strong As Hell” Check In Postcard

Looking for something a little less serious that still acknowledges someone’s mental health struggles? This is your card. It’s the perfect reminder that battling your own brain 24/7 is no easy feat, and they’re a badass for doing it. Another day alive is another battle won.

For the person that's been there for you through thick and thin

“Thanks For The Support" Check In Postcard

Has someone really made a positive impact on your mental wellbeing through their support? Tell them about it! Acknowledging and appreciating the things our loved ones do for us strengthens relationships and deepens communication.

For the guardian angel keeping your life on track

“Best Therapist Award” Check In Postcard

Is that person helping you tackle life your therapist? They deserve love, too! This is a cute and low budget way to show your appreciation. With a simple message, you can make this as reserved or heartfelt as you want.

How To Send Yours

All postcard orders are mailed in a no-bend mailer so they look pristine when you get them. You could send the whole order directly to the recipient but we suggest mailing it to yourself first so you can write a personal message on the blank backside. If you'd prefer your message to be kept private, you have the option to add a self-sealing recycled paper envelope to your order for easy mailing!

Toss in one of our stickers to add that extra touch.
